Berkeley Jackson explains what it was like to grow up in the 1950s with hunting and gardening being a central part of your life. Jackson’s family attended church frequently, and he served as an usher at his church. Berkeley’s father earned a living farming and working at a mechanic’s garage while his mother stayed at home to look after the children. After his father’s death, Mr. Jackson had to start working at a young age. He worked for a Ford dealership in Richmond for over fifty years.
