Interview with John Thomasson

Cultural Narrative: 

John Thomasson discusses his schooling and his career as a mortician. He was the first black mortician in Louisa County. Mr. Thomasson served in a segregated military unit during World War II. He dedicated a lot of his life to community service and volunteerism. Mr. Thomasson served on a number of boards and community groups throughout his lifetime in an effort to enrich Louisa County. He shares his opinions about modern racial politics and what has and has not changed since the 1950s. Mr. Thomasson passed away in 2020.
