Interview with Shirley Clough

Cultural Narrative: 

Shirley Clough was born to a family of farmers on a 140-acre farm in Louisa. During her childhood, she remembers helping out around the farm before and after school. Mrs. Clough graduated from the Louisa County High School in 1953. While she was in school, she worked as a typist at an insurance company. Mrs. Clough has attended the South Anna Baptist Church for over 50 years and is active in their choir. Her late husband worked as a mechanic for the county schools, and she raised their five children. During the 1950s, Mrs. Clough remembers playing board games and going to get ice cream with her family after her homework was done.
